Leigh Diffey was originally scheduled to call the race, but was given the week off after working NBC Sports' coverage of the United States Track & Field Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon.
This was Charlie Kimball's debut for NBC Sports' IndyCar Series coverage. He had been working on their coverage of IndyCar's feeder series, Indy NXT, prior to this. Kimball's lone IndyCar Series win as a driver was this very race in 2013.
